signs of fall
Aug. 12th, 2006 09:50 pmHummingbirds finally arrived in my yard.
The song sparrows have stopped singing and started chipping, mostly.
Other birds seem to be fighting for territory.
This morning was football and cheerleader practice at the elementary school.
I have pointless meetings next week.
Mostly I like fall but right at this moment I'm tired and can't summon the enthusiasm I felt earlier today, nor can I bemusedly rant at early gender roles: boys are rough and do, girls talk and stay neat and clean. They're six years old! Goodness. I'm contemplating my fall schedule and already missing the freedom of this past month and being able to hang out with J all day, doing nothing, setting my own goals, working at my own pace.
