phone woes
Mar. 8th, 2016 12:43 amI've learned a lot about cell phones over the past month.
The initial situation was that I had a traditional contract with Spring and an iPhone 4S. I've been pretty happy with Sprint and my plan. But the phone was getting old and slow and I wanted to upgrade. I could buy a new iPhone full price and continue my current plan, or I could get a discount on an iPhone but change to their over-priced plans that might be good for families but not individuals.
A solution offered itself in the form of a friend who upgraded from an AT&T iPhone 5s to an iPhone 6 or 6+. I bought her phone for $135 and had it unlocked. The device works beautifully. It processes Facebook messages faster and sends email faster. All the things I do over WiFi are awesome.
( And then the trouble started. )And what all this boils down to is that if H2O and other carriers would include MMS settings in their bloody profiles I would have saved 20-30 hours of work time. Edit: My research assistant says that he found a post stating that it isn't possible to set MMS settings with a config file.
