6 1/2 months
Nov. 5th, 2006 05:44 pmWe're 6 1/2 months away from the wedding now. It's exciting! If the next 6 months pass as quickly as the last 5, we'll be getting married, like, tomorrow. Oh my, still much to do. Happy sigh. Must call florist this week, also go back to reception site to make some decorating decisions. Music still somewhat up in the air, as is the wedding party. Bridesmaid dresses remain annoying.
I also just birded in the backyard, which I haven't really done for a while. It's so much fun! The robs and the cedar waxwings seem to be fighting over our Bradford pears. The red-bellied woodpecker is very fond of the sunflower seeds. I heard a white-throated sparrow earlier today for the first time this season, then saw one this evening. The towhees were out digging around on the ground. (J did an amusing imitation of them.) There's a new chickadee with a big white splash on its back. The downy woodpecker follows typical woodpecker pattern in going to the far side of the tree before taking off. The Carolina Wrens kept yelling at the other birds--they sounds like a hoarse cat hissing. The cardinals sung out occasionally. Bluejays were miraculously silent. Starlings were flying overhead, as well as a bunch of other birds I couldn't identify.
It's funny how happy and excited I get thinking about the birds.
