How sad is it that I want to see this? Of course it's pure fantasy and it's going to mislead my students, but who cares! Jane Austen becomes one of her heroines, rather than the usual move of representing her heroines as how we imagine her being. I don't really believe she had a serious thing for Tom Lefroy. I think she was interested and they enjoyed flirting, but that it didn't develop into much. I love the actor playing him though: James Macavoy, who played Mr. Tumnas in Narnia.
I despise the music they use for the preview. How many movies will they use it for? I don't know what it is, but it featured prominently in Little Women. It isn't that I don't like it. I just feel I'm being manipulated.
