house progress
Sep. 25th, 2007 03:28 pmWe moved into our new home this past weekend, with the help of good friends including
salvador_dalai and
lilyofflorence. There are still boxes everywhere, but we're able to sleep and shower. Soon, we'll even be able to cook.
At this very moment, two very competent men are drilling in my kitchen. They have most of the cabinets up; two of the cabinets were shipped in the wrong size, so they'll have to wait. They've attached the hardware and the crown molding. The counter will be installed next week. Pictures will be forthcoming. The hickory looks fantastic next to the black-and-stainless-steel range. The hardware is a little heavier-looking than I had imagined, but it will grow on me.
Today I've been forced to stay in my new office with my cat, as we both avoid the workmen. I've accomplished a great deal since 7 a.m. I should get up so early to start work every day.
