Today I led my first field trip. I'm not experienced enough to really lead; all I did was determine where we were going: the park at Cove Lake, north of Knoxville. 7 people showed up, plus me, which is a good showing. I saw 4 new life birds: Orange-Crowned Warbler, Great Egret, Black-Crowned Night Heron, and Vesper Sparrow. My life count is now close to 150. After birding we all ate lunch together at the Cove Lake restaurant. (Where we ate birds. Ironic.) Good food, good birds, good day.
