referred pain
Apr. 24th, 2011 08:53 pmMy surgery has been surprisingly painless. The ENT told me that she always gives more pain pills than are needed, but lots of patients are fine with just Tylenol. I didn't believe her, but now I do. The weirdest thing is where my pain is located. If I touch the top of my nose, the roof of my mouth hurts. That's the most common place I experience pain. Now, the roof of my mouth is also the bottom of my nose, but that isn't where the stitching is. It's just an easy place for my body to locate pain because it isn't used to thinking about pain where the doctor was stitching. I do sometimes have a sinus headache, which can either be a real sinus headache but is also more likely referred pain. Right now I have a little stinging irritation right between my front 2 teeth.
