productivity
Apr. 9th, 2013 09:48 pmIt seems like I ought to be able to get more done on Tuesdays than I do. That's a day when I don't teach. Here's how I spent my time today:
Woke at 9 (hour lost, sleeping late)
9-10:30: breakfast, playing with cats, reading email
10:30-11:15: walking
11:30-12:00 dunno
12:00-12:20 nap
12:20-1:00 lunch, get ready to leave
1:05-1:25 drive to school
1:25-3:40 Office hours, most of which I spent prepping for Wednesday. I did a little quiz-grading and some Facebooking.
3:50-4:15 Allergy shot
4:15-4:30 Drive back to campus and walk to office
4:30-4:45 Piddle in office
4:45-5:00 walk to UC for meeting
5:00-5:45 Meeting
5:45-6:00 walk back to car
6:00-6:15 drive home
6:30-8:00 Read for Wednesday's class and a little cat-time
8:00-8:30 late dinner
8:45 started grading, graded one paper and went onto email and now on LiveJournal.
So, basically my day was cut up into all these little chunks. There was a fair bit of transportation time (both driving and walking), and then there's the trouble of getting in the groove. Oh, and the long readings I needed to do, too. Thursdays are easier because I don't go into campus at all, and I tend to get a lot more done. This fall I have a TuTh teaching schedule, and I'm just going to put all my office hours on one day so that maybe I can get more done.
