good things

Yesterday I was very happy because I had finished grading. Then I got even happier when I got a request for additional materials for a job application. Yay! I haven't responded yet, but I will before we leave town today. I also had a good teaching day and helped some students. Then J and I went shopping and I became very tired and grumpy. After a good night's sleep, the good feelings are back. Especially since this morning I managed to shower, go to the post office, and get supplied for class at Krispy Kreme, all before 8:45. Today is a casual teaching day. They're turning in papers and working on their projects, so I am bringing donuts. It's quite out of character for me. But this is out of gratitude: they've been wonderful. I'm taking notes for a new project during class time and taking care of paperwork, which gives me a sense of personal satisfaction. This afternoon I will finish packing, and then I will leave all my cares behind as we drive to middle Tn.
