"wedding day"
Apr. 6th, 2007 10:00 pmToday was a wedding day. Not THE wedding day. Rather, we spent the day together running errands for the wedding. We started the morning at 8 a.m. at Carl Cowan Park, where we braved the chilly weather to have our engagement pictures taken. I enjoyed the session because it meant I got to cuddle and kiss J for an hour. Plus it was very lovely at the park, and our photographer is a good person. Next we went to Target, where we doubled the size of our wishlist. At 11 we went home for lunch and a 2-hour nap before venturing to Walker's Formalwear to choose tuxedos. J found a design he liked and the salesman was very helpful without being pushy. Quite professional. Then to A.C. Moore to buy the cake topper and paper for the programs and some decorations. By then it was 4, so we decided to look at a "fun center" we were considering for a party the night before the wedding. J decided it was lame and I had to agree. We went to dinner at Barley's in the Old City, which we are also considering for the rehearsal dinner and party. I'm meeting with a manager on Monday to talk about it. The rehearsal is a source of stress for me, primarily because my maid of honor won't arrive until around 5 on Saturday. If we have the dinner at 6, when will the rehearsal be? Perhaps we can have the rehearsal in the hotel, then everyone go to the dinner. The party part is easier. Barley's is a great choice: they have Ktown's best beer selection, awesome pizza, and pool tables upstairs. And last, today FedEx tried to deliver J's ring while we were at the photo shoot, so I went tonight to pick it up. It's absolutely lovely. I'm quite relieved.
When we got back home tonight we realized our heat isn't working. We're using a space heater tonight, though our repairman did say he would try to come by. That was about 4 hours ago. I think we need a new thermostat. The timing is unfortunate, to lose heat on the day it snows. I saw flurries as I was driving about this evening.
