I saw a new life bird this morning at Cove Lake State Park. I'm especially pleased about finding the Yellow-throated Warbler. It's a pretty common bird that I just happen not to have seen, so it's nice to fill in the hole. What makes it really special is that I managed to hear the warbler then track it down on the tree until I had good views of it. I'm notoriously bad at finding warblers--they're so small and they hop around so much and they like to be high up in the trees. Usually I just don't even try. I found the Yellow-throated Warbler within my first 15 minutes at the park. The other highlight was on a long walking trail where I actually managed to get good views of 2 separate Wood Thrushes.
