The kittens spent two days separated in different rooms. Last night we reunited them. We were worried at first that they would just cling to each other more, and this is still a worry, but Calliope has improved greatly since she got her sibling back. She immediately started eating more and using the litter box more. J played with them and held them this morning, and I took my turn this afternoon. I held each of them for about 10 minutes, and I played with them using a stick toy. Jas did better on each task. He almost fell asleep in my arms--adorable! Calliope did okay with being held, but was never truly comfortable. Jas is more venturesome and will play first. Once he's playing with a toy, Calliope want to play but also doesn't want to come between him and his prey.

On Wednesday I take them to the vet. We'll work with them some more before then so that hopefully they'll forgive us for that trauma.
